Landed late evening and walked the 3/4 mile to the town square. We ate at El compadre Mexican restaurant which was superb. Runway lighting was fine for take off but a little lacking for landing. Runway is in decent condition except the edges which are uneven and drop off sharply. If wind permits 06 is better for go-around options. Ramp space is limited but we had the place to ourselves. Good rural airport and with a population of 2100 Orleans is fortunate to have it. Will come back!

Watch out for folks walking on the runway.

Downtown square is a mile walk on quiet streets or bring your folding bike. Good pizza place on square and ice cream nearby. Also farmers market on some Saturdays.
