What a wonderful airport terminal. Paul the Airport Manager is SO FINE! Call ahead and ask for the Crew Car. Go into town (less than 5mins away) and get pasties at Lehto's Pasties! (See my post on Michigan Pilots Facebook page) Be mindful of geese poop on the runway which can be mistaken for large debris and can throw off your sight picture when landing. The signal with Minneapolis Center is sketchy below about 2500-3000' so don't be surprised if you can't get flight following until higher up.

Stopped in on a Sunday around lunch to find a busy ramp and very welcoming manager who lent the crew car, without any trouble, for a trip into town to eat and grab a dozen quintessential pasties to take home! Returned to empty FBO, left car where I found it, topped off with reasonably priced 100LL, and departed on the well maintained long runway.

Quite fine airport to fuel up prior to a Mackinac Island visit. Superb and tidy fuel pumps, good ramp and runway.
