Good little mountain airport with fine pilot lounge, and simple walk to downtown. Fly in for BBQ at the Red House BBQ, then visit the Tehachapi Depot Museum, and then get an eclair at the bakery down the street. What a fine place for a quick getaway! Self Serve Fuel simple access. Port-a-Potty at gas pump, but also a restroom in the pilot lounge. DA can be high, but with strong winds down the runway, should not be an issue getting off the ground.

Flew in on a windy day with much gust. Thankfully the gust was mostly down the runway. Many spaces are available in the transient parking. Tie down chains are available. There are many shops and eateries about a mile away. The pedestrian access gate is next to the pilot lounge. Kohnen's Country Bakery is really delicious. Got some chocolate eclair and blueberry pie. Lots of dining options nearby such as Thai food, Vietnamese, Mexican, BBQ, sushi, etc.

Home base for four years. Well looked after with a significant taxi way update in 2024. Fair fuel costs, fine pilot lounge. Several eateries within walking distance. Mind the wind speeds due to mountain wave turbulence.
