Flew in with a couple planes looking to go to Deep Creek for the day. One of the airport workers took us down to the boat rental and was good with suggestions for the local area. Definitely would stop here again! Fine folk!

After waiting for the mist to clear from the morning dew point and temperature issue, we flew in about 3 o’clock. The airport is beautifully situated and remarkably well-kept. The location of the airport does make the wind a bit of a variable, and it does have high density altitude in the summertime that cannot be overlooked, but the friendly staff, the very long 5000 ft runway coupled with the mountain top setting adjacent to Deep Creek Lake make it a potential for a destination airport.

Wonderful staff and facilities adjacent to a beautiful Alpine Lake community. Summertime density altitudes approaching 5000’…. so account for that performance variable for both arrival and departure. Also be ready for un-forecast wind at this mountaintop airport.
