Aurora Municipal Pilot Reviews:

KARR was a fuel stop for me. Filing from KARR TO KFCM (Minnesota) at 10K I got a DP and a STAR. Eventually they let me fly direct and climb to altitude, but not until first putting me on a 270 vector at 4000 ft. for 30 miles. I asked the controller and he said that next time it might work out better to fuel outside of KELSI to avoid Chicago Approach. Otherwise KARR is a very pleasant facility with 2 good FBOs.

There were a few students in the pattern, but nothing like my home airport where 4 flight schools operate along with biz jets, pistons and helicopters on parallel runways. This location was a piece of cake. I parked at Revv to get fuel and then depart again. Walter and the remainder of the crew there were fine. Revv completely redid the facility after taking over from the former owners a few years ago.

Good airport, but exercise caution when bringing student pilots here for pattern work as one of the controllers lacks patience with student pilots learning to communicate with tower.
