May 6, 2026Excellent airport with solid facilities. Black Walnut is an awesome cafe. The Tower folks can get a bit impatient and grumpy, so come prepared.

April 30, 2026Pricey FBO, though it turned out fine. The tower sounded grumpy, but it wasn't too bad-just listen, go along with it, and repeat things back correctly. They use 01/19 as a taxiway.

February 26, 2026After 49 years as a pilot, including 26 years based at KCXO, I find the complaints about ATC being grumpy surprising. Tower and ground controllers work with every level of student pilot while also handling GA, commercial, and helicopter traffic. With that much taxi and runway activity, pilots need to respond to ATC promptly and accurately for safety. In all my many hours of local flying, the only problems I've heard were cases where ATC had made several calls without an answer, or where readbacks were incomplete or incorrect.
