October 6, 2025Many thanks to Steve at Western Plains Aviation, who quickly got me back in the air after an alternator failure in flight. it could have been a long weekend as the mechanics on the field are off on friday. But Steve (the shop owner) was in the office and was able to diagnose the issue, repair a broken connector, charge the battery and get me on my way fast. General Aviation at its finest.

July 30, 2025Good FBO, very responsive and helpful staff. True it's not DFW but isn't that a fine thing? Rental cars were there as requested, promptly fueled, good pilot lounge, no complaints on my part.

July 25, 2025I don't grasp the quantity of bad reviews. Certainly no premium standard of line service (it's like a 2 star hotel vs 5 star) but isn't poor and pilot facilities are fine. I'd guess that if turbine powered you'll be better off at KFNL a short distance west. Additionally: -Pattern is often full of students but wind or warmth thins it out. -New owner of eatery has improved matters over prior though kitchen still a bit on the slow side. -Ground transportation is a bother.

Runway 35 preferred use when wind less than 5 kts. runway 35 preferred for tgl.
