July 29, 2024Flew into KIYK yesterday, very fine pilot lounge, Joe let me utilize a crew car to drive into Ridgecrest for lunch, fuel price was good, runways excellent. Definitely one of the nicest airports to fly into.

May 9, 2024I really like this airport. I was flying to Bishop from San Diego. North of Inyokern, I made a U-Turn because of thunderstorms appearing. The fuel island has a steady, set of steady stairs, that I rolled over to the plane for fueling. The pilot lounge was cozy with a kitchenette, bathroom and pilot lounge. It even has air conditioning, snacks ($1), and coffee pods ($1). Someone has put work into the lounge (many thanks). Opening the pilot-lounge door was a puzzle at first.

April 24, 2024Runways in good condition. There is a pilot lounge in the blue building (not to be confused with the main terminal, which has a red restricted line around its apron perimeter). Go up the stairs, left side of building as you approach from tarmac. Enter CTAF freq on door lock. Finely furnished and comfortable. Fuel pump payment system was quick as was nozzle output rate. (Good prices to top). Highly recommend this airport!
