April 9, 2025We've flown in and out of KILM for many years. My childhood home town, a wonderful spot! Just be mindful of potential wind turbulence, gusts and shears on final during the afternoon due to sea breeze mixing with prevailing westerlies, especially on approach from the east. Final approach can be rough for small planes. Long runway, maintain extra power on. Also, anticipate possible coastal fog until late morning during warmer months. Good people, fine facilities!

March 14, 2023It seems as though everybody at this airport genuinely loves their job. From the controllers to the folks at the FBO, everyone is happy to assist. Modern Aviation employs consummate professionals. Jeremy and Dom are top notch Line Service Techs who prioritize safety and proper care of planes. Crew cars are clean, as is the whole FBO. A fun spot to stop! 8 minute car ride into downtown Wilmington.
